I was blessed to grow up with all my cousins. As my cousin Cali once said "We grew-up more like siblings than like cousins." They have always been my best friends. Now that we are all a little older and living in different places, I miss them a lot. A few years ago we had a reunion for a few days. We had such a blast. When we learned that we wouldn't be having a full fledged Earl family reunion this year, my cousin Kacey suggested that us girl cousins participate in a Ragnar relay. This involves running around 200 miles with 12 or so people day and night. I'll admit, I liked the sound of it. I think a Ragnar would be an interesting experience. There were many responses to Kacey's email. Many were interested in being there to hang, offer moral support, and eat. Basically that initial suggestion turned into another Earl girl cousin reunion. We decided on Utah due to the ease of travel for most people. Pat and Mindy (my brother-in-law and sister-in-law) offered to let us stay in their condo at the Canyons. The rest is history. The party started Friday evening and ended Sunday morning. Each family was responsible for a meal. We basically talked, laughed, cried, ate great food, played games (reverse charades and what's yours like), and hit the outlet mall. We went to bed way too late (some of us at 3am and some at 5am...you know who you are.) I am so grateful that I was raised with such amazing women. They are my very best friends. I know that they love and support me unconditionally and understand me more than most people ever will. I love you guys! Thanks for a great weekend! We missed those who were not with us this year and hope they will be there next time!
Lounging around talking.
An intense game of reverse charades!
