Christmas Open House

Every year since Dennis was a bishop (for around 21 years) Dennis and Kemy have had a Christmas open house. Basically they make cinnamon rolls, brownies, and other delicious treats and set out a variety of candy for people to enjoy. They invite everyone from the ward to come by. The adults visit and there is a Christmas movie playing for the kids to watch.

Due to the circumstances this year I wasn't really expecting the open house to happen. But it did. Last Friday Dennis took the day off work. Dennis and Donna made a few batches of cinnamon rolls and started cleaning. I did some cleaning and made a third batch of cinnamon rolls. Mindy showed up with the little girls too. Brandon and I finished hanging Christmas lights. At 6:30 when people started arriving Brandon and I were still in the kitchen trying to get it cleaned up. It was a crazy day trying to prepare for the open house.

We had a great turn out. Brandon had several close friends show up. I even had the chance to meet and get to know his high school girlfriend, Sam. She was great.

It was a success but exhausting. I'm really glad that we were able to help Dennis keep this family tradition alive.
