I Almost Cried!

I saw my schedule for this month and almost cried! I have a composite line which means some of my trips are awarded to me in the bid process but that they couldn't build a full schedule. So in order to make up a full schedule crew support gives me reserve days (where I'm on call) to fill in the rest of my schedule. They can pretty much put the days wherever they want to. I sent an email to the lady in scheduling to remind her that I commute from Boise to Los Angeles and asked if she could please put all my reserve days in a block together or at least up against existing trips so that I can make it home in between. I ended up with 4 days on 1 day off, 3 days on 1 day off, 2 days on 1 day off, and 4 days on. It is nearly impossible for me to get home and back to Los Angeles with one day off. So in essence they are asking me not to see my home or family until the 15th of August (from the 30th of July.) I did sleep in the airport last night so I could make it home to see Brandon today and leave again first thing in the morning (less than 24 hours at home.) But if my trip gets done late on the last day and starts early after the 1 day off it is impossible to get home and back. I know I shouldn't be surprised. I just don't think anyone should be asked to do that. Sorry, I just had to vent for a second. I'm okay now.
