Resistant

I was a little resistant to see Avatar. I'm not even really sure why. My husband is not really into any movies that are remotely Sci Fi. I forced him a year ago to watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Even after watching it I don't think he would have been sad not to see it.

This weekend some family friends of ours, Jake and Emily Moffat, called and invited us to go see Avatar. Jake and Emily have been living a few miles away from us for months. I didn't even know it until around Christmas time. It would have been really sad if they lived this close and we never got together. They are planning on moving very soon. I'm so glad they called and invited us.

Avatar was an amazing cinematic feat no doubt. I really enjoyed it. I'm glad I was able to see it in 3D. The story has definitely been done before but the technology involved to portray this story was amazing. Because it has been out so long I didn't think we needed to arrive very early to get a seat. Boy was I wrong. We each ended up having to sit as individuals. I can't remember the last time I ever had to do that.

After the movie we went to Denny's to grab a bite to eat. It was fun discussing the movie with Jake and Emily. They are both in the "business". Emily is an actress. Jake's ultimate goal is producing. He has currently been doing some post production editing for Yo Gabba Gabba. As always it was just fun getting caught up.

Forget Avatar...you know somebody who works on Yo Gabba Gabba?? How cool is that? That is Q's favorite show and thus I am a super fan as well.

How fun! I didn't really care to see Avatar either, but you know Collin...Mr. Fanstasy, so I went with all the boys. I actually really enjoyed it, and got sucked in. Glad you had fun. Always good to see some Moffats!
