This and That

It's funny because I know there has been a lot happening but by the time I have the time to sit down and write about it I can't really think of what I wanted to document.

In the middle of March, Southwest opened their application site for two weeks. I applied. It was quite a process going through my logbook and breaking all my flight time down into the categories they wanted. Picture me with a calculator, pen, and paper for hours. The good news is that I was able to apply to my dream job. The bad news is that so did 6,500 other pilots for 100 spots. I probably won't get an interview this first go around but at least they have my stuff and I can keep updating it.

I have been trying to prepare myself for an interview. All the questions are situation based. For example, tell me about the most difficult decision you have had to make in the last year. Tell me about a time when you have broken company policy or procedure. Tell me about a time when you didn't get along with a captain or first officer. The list goes on and on. I am just kicking myself that I haven't kept a flight journal or something. My memory is terrible so I have been wracking my brain trying to think of all the situations I have been in that would apply. I am seriously going to start keeping an aviation journal (kind of nerdy but totally necessary I guess.)

Brandon started again with Costco. What a great blessing! He has been working part-time which gives him time to do his pest control stuff too but also has a consistent pay check. Plus, he really likes to stay busy. I don't feel as bad when I'm gone when I know that he is busy working too.

We made a quick trip to Moses Lake. I was able to see Angie and Q. We had so much fun. I didn't want them to leave. I also got to see Grandma. I'll admit I had a little bit of a melt down when she asked me if I was running out of time to have kids. My mom, Brandon, and I went to Spokane to run a few errands as well. Brandon's mom had some chairs that we decided to reupholster. We went and found some fabric with me mom. Brandon also wanted to go to the White's boots factory. He tried some on. We could see them being built right in front of us. Pretty cool. We had lunch with my dad in Ephrata too. I sent a resume into SkyWest for the son of his co-worker, Kim Lowe. So the Lowe's wanted to meet me and take me to lunch. They were a really sweet family and it was fun to get to know them. The trip was fun but quick.

We had quite a frustrating drive home. There was a big semi truck that was on fire an hour outside of Boise. We were trying to get Brandon to work on time. We sat there waiting for 2 hours for the truck to burn up. They didn't send any fire trucks or anything. We asked them about sending us on another route. Nope! They did nothing for 2 hours. Finally they turned us around and sent us on the other side of the freeway. I thought they would just route us around the burning truck. Nope! They sent us all the way back to Weezer and around to rejoin the freeway. Totally irritating!

I also was able to have dinner with a fun Puerto Rican gal from our ward, Natalia Solmon. Her husband is gone for work in Texas. Myca, Jared, Brandon, and I had her over for Chinese food. Then she invited me over one night when Brandon was working. She can really cook! We had a great time. I guess her son, Kelly, was so sad when I left too. I do have a way with the young kids. She does Scentsy. I wasn't really familiar with it but think I want to try it. Does anyone have Scentsy and have an opinion about it?

Tayden asked me about my wedding ring the other day. I told me that it showed that I was married to Uncle Brandon. He told me that I was married to him. I asked him where my ring was. He told me "I'll get you a ring tomorrow." Then he told his dad that he was going to get Lysha a ring tomorrow. He is so cute!

I was able to see my dear friends Jim and Pennie Turner last weekend. They live in Park City but were renting a place in Laguna Beach for a week. I drove straight down after my trip. We just talked and talked. I love them so much. Unfortunately, I had to go to bed at 9 because I had to get up at 3 to go back to work. I didn't have as much time with them as I would have liked.

We just ordered some bunk beds for one of our spare rooms and brought another bed back from Moses Lake. I can't even imagine our place with furniture. Now we have accommodations if anyone wants to visit. Life is great but really crazy!

I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll get your dream job! And don't worry about Grandma Earl---your time is not running out to have kids!

Oh, and I have Scentsy in my home. I love it!

2) I didnt want to leave! I loved just hanging out and chatting about everything. Plus brandon, putting in his random two cents was so funny.

Scentsy... love it! They really are better than candles and make great nightlights too! Glad you got to apply for Southwest. It will happen when it is suppose to! Cool about Brandon's job! And talking about everyone visiting me... you visit EVERYONE so I DO need to make your list! Unfortunately we live about 9 hours from Houston:( Sometime... somewhere. It is about time! I was looking at the wedding pics of you and Brandon the other day on my computer and remembering the pole dancing and how I was just barely pregnant with Theron. Great times. Pregnancy will happen for you when it is suppose to as well. Sorry about your ankle! I know that has to be killing you because you love to run! Miss and love you!
