First ER Trip

This "weekend" (I never know what to call my days off since it isn't actually the weekend) didn't exactly go as I planned. Things started to go awry on Wednesday night. I finished work at 8:45pm and planned to take the 9:30pm direct flight from Minneapolis to Boise. This flight was delayed until 1:30am. I didn't get home until after 4am. I was suppose to be up at 5am in order to catch a flight to Vegas to attend a conference. I was planning on taking Broden with me and neither of us were packed. Needless to say, there was no way I could sleep for an hour and make the flight. I decided to stick around and leave Friday morning instead.

My brother-in-law, Justin, came into town from Mesa to go turkey hunting with Brandon. I tried to nap when Broden napped. I am not a good napper and usually end of feeling frustrated that I can't sleep. I went by Myca's for awhile to hang out and play with the kids. Jared met up with Brandon to go hunting. They got back late. I was pretty frustrated by the time Brandon arrived. I was checking loads to Vegas which were terrible. Then the password to my United Airlines account would not work. I was on the phone forever trying to get it fixed with someone from India that said I wasn't in any of the databases. I finally figured out a route to Vegas around midnight but it would require me to be up at 3:30am. Additionally, Broden had not been sleeping well that night. My mom had mentioned that she thought he was running a little bit of a fever while I was away. At 1am he was definitely running a fever. We gave him some Tylenol. At 4 am he was even warmer, around 103 degrees. Brandon and I decided to take him to the ER. We were the only people there and it still took forever. They basically gave him Advil and told us to give him either Tylenol or Advil every 4 hours. We were also instructed to keep an eye on him and watch for anything unusual. It is rough spending $100 for someone to just give your baby some Advil and tell you to keep an eye on him. It is worth the peace of mind though. I basically spent the weekend hanging with the little bug.

Broden and I went out with Brandon and Justin to check out some RV's. We also went out with them to shoot some whistle pigs. We had ribeye for dinner one night and watched a movie. It was fun having Justin in town. It was nice to have a few days off at the same time Brandon did.
