Bonfire

Last Friday night Brandon and I decided to have a bonfire at the beach with a few friends. Our friends had other commitments until around 8pm so we were in charge of going to find a pit. We had a bit of a late start because we were watching my nieces. We tried Corona Del Mar first. Everything was already full. Then Newport...no pits. Finally at Huntington we found some pits. The beaches close at 10pm so we almost didn't do it since it was getting late. I am glad we did. It was a lot of fun. It was kind of windy. Brian and Becka Adams carpooled with Dryw and Stephanie Waite. They all live in Fullerton which is a town right next to where Brandon's parents live. Brian and Dryw went with us last week to the Ducks game.

The guys got the fire started.
We just watched! Then we made some smores. I can't remember the last time I had smores. They were delicious.
Dryw brought a couple of closet doors to burn. The guys held each door up and took turns running and jumping into them to try and bust them up so they would fit in the pit. When the beach patrol came driving up we packed up our stuff and headed out. We went to Brian and Becka's apartment and watched a movie. We stayed up until almost 3am. I was on reserve Saturday morning. Luckily they didn't call me into work.

I realize that for living so close to the beach I really don't get there enough. So this Wednesday on my day off I went to the beach. It was a beautiful day. I just read and walked the beach.

First of all, how amazingly fun to live near a beach. Walks on the beach and reading a book? AAhhhhhh. Dreamy. Second, I love me some smores.

Why am I not living in California?! That sounds absolutely wonderful. And, yes, smores are one of the best treats ever!
