Brandon and I decided that for Christmas instead of getting each other something we would just get something for both of us that we needed for the house. We have been borrowing a vacuum since we have been married so we decided that a vacuum would be our Christmas purchase. We had been looking at the Dyson slim for over a year and had determined to go for it.
About a week and a half before Christmas Brandon's Ipod took a dump. Anyone who knows Brandon knows that he can't live without his Ipod. He uses it all the time and is constantly looking for new music. Brandon had his Ipod for around five years I think. It didn't play movies or anything like that. It was filled to capacity. I decided that instead of getting a vacuum I would surprise Brandon and get a new Ipod. Brandon is very hard to surprise because he is the type that completely researches all his purchases and knows exactly what he wants. I knew that he wanted the 160GB Ipod classic which had recently been discontinued. I called Ryan to see if he would jump on Ebay to see what he could find. He checked Amazon too.
I ended up purchasing the Ipod on Amazon. I created an account and used our joint credit card. The next morning Brandon called me from work and told me that Amazon had emailed him. They told him that there was some suspicious activity on his credit card. I told him I would look into it. They never contacted me about it at all after the confirmation email to let me know there was a problem.
We left out of town to go to Mammoth. When I got back I tried to log onto the account I created on Amazon and it was like I didn't exist. It wouldn't let me log on. It wouldn't send me a new password when I tried that option. I went on Brandon's account and called them. I explained the situation. I told them that I was frustrated because it was a surprise for my husband and they contacted him and not me. I was also concerned that it wouldn't arrive by Christmas. They woman apologized profusely. She said that she would send the information right over to the right department and pretty much guaranteed that the present would arrive on time. Then I was called out to work for four days. I didn't have time to check on it.
Well the gift never came. The day after Christmas I ended up just having him guess what he was getting. Then I contacted Amazon again. They told me the gift order was still on hold. I told him of my previous conversation and the promise that it would arrive on time. I asked what further information he needed for this order to go through. He told me he didn't need anymore information. Ok, so why didn't my order go through. He had no answers and just said that he would send it over again. How frustrating. I was in tears. A couple days later I received an email that the order had been cancelled and if I still wanted the Ipod I needed to go back online and order one. Lame!!
The Ipod finally made it here!! So much for trying to surprise my husband for Christmas!
