Mother's Day Weekend

We basically spent the whole weekend with my mother-in-law. My father-in-law was out of town so we decided to keep her company.

Friday evening I was able to go to dinner with some ladies from the ward. It was fathers and sons weekend. Plus there was a birthday party that some of their girls were going to. We all met up at California Pizza Kitchen and had a good time eatting and chatting. Then I drove up to Brea where Brandon was replacing the brakes on his dad's car and his truck.

Saturday Brandon finished the brakes. Then we took Kemy to the fashion district in LA. There were fabric stores everywhere (and some really interesting looking people). This was Brandon's worse nightmare but we knew that Kemy really wanted to go. Kemy actually was very quick and decisive about what she wanted to get. That night we took her to dinner at Claim Jumper.

Sunday after church we went to eat lunch at Patrick and Mindy's house (my sister-in-laws). Kemy met us down there. It was a beautiful day. Brandon and Patrick gave me some very pretty shoes from Nordstrom. I tried to tell them that I'm not a mom yet but for some reason they still thought I deserved them. The shoes are these lovely black Cole Haan sling hills.

Brandon and I went for a drive around our ward boundaries in the evening. We wanted to check out the different neighborhoods. We are realizing that even though the prices for houses have come down, we probably still can't afford anything. Oh well, it's nice to see what's out there.

I was able to talk with my Mom on the phone for a little bit on Sunday. I feel very blessed to have such an amazing Mother. I have never in my life questioned if I was loved, accepted, or cared for. I pray that I can be half as good of mother as she has been to me. I really wish that she lived by me. What a significant blessing my Mom has been in my life.

I'm glad you had a nice weekend. That was so nice of them to get you new shoes.

You are right---your mom is terrific!

Mom is terrific! And you are a future-mom and a part-time nanny so you deserve those shoes! I'm excited to see you (I hope!)!!
