Megan's Wedding

Some of our dearest family friends are the Moffats. My Mom grew up with Peg. Peggy and Parker did the luncheon at my wedding. Their daughter, Megan, got married on May 23rd. I was only off on the 21st and 22nd. I ended work early on Wednesday the 20th and flew to Phoenix to help with wedding preparations. I have never seen or been involved in anything so crazy before in my life. These people "DO" weddings. They seriously thought of everything down to the very last detail.

Rob picked me up from the airport. We stopped by a fabric store and Wal-mart on the way home. I made it just in time to go with a group to the Bride and Groom's photo shoot. He had not seen the gown so they had to go separately to surprise him. Her gown was so beautiful. It was designed specifically by a friend who does that. The style was so Megan. She looked incredible and they took some great shots.

We arrived back at the house and assignments were given. Maddie and I went to the grocery store to pick up food for dinner. Then I helped with dinner and clean up. There was a planning meeting. Megan, her friend, and I talked in the kitchen for awhile. Then off to bed. Peg stayed up sewing until who knows when.

First thing in the morning we divided up in groups. We each had a list of all the items we needed to pick up at the specific store we were going to and how much to pick up. We also had everyone elses list. I went with Parker to Sam's club. There were probably seven stores total on the list. We were on the cell phone a million times coordinating items that people couldn't find at other stores. We also had to stop by Wal-mart. We made our purchases and out to our car only to have to return for another round. When we all met up again at the house it was time to divide the food. Rob, Emily, and I divided the food into the items/quantity needed for each recipe. Then we put it in the car divided between the different women's houses we were taking the food to be prepared. Peg and I ran the food to each location. It was craziness.

Then I had to use all my creative skills to prepare the center pieces. I washed all the clear vases. Then tied ribbons around, put marbles in with silk flowers, and tied ribbons on the flowers too. I know what you're thinking...how on earth did I get that assignment! Where was Nena when I needed her most?! Seriously.

We finished up with all we could by around 5:00 pm. Then we had a little celebration for Maddie who was graduating that night. Parker ordered Chinese food. Jake made a cute video for her graduation with pictures put to music. He also stayed up all night working on a wedding video for Megan. We played a game. Then they were all off to graduation.

My parents and Ryan arrived shortly there after. We went to dinner then headed back to Moffats. We chatted for a bit when everyone arrived back from graduation. Then Ryan and I ran to the store to get Maddie some fruit for a breakfast she was going to after the all night graduation party. My parents, Ryan, and I went to Vicki Cutlers house to stay the night but the door was locked. We headed back to Moffats.

Friday involved a lot more craziness. I started off the morning sewing. You read right. Sewing! I haven't used a sewing machine since I was in fourth or fifth grade. I can't say that I did a good job but I tried my best. We went and grabbed some lunch at In and Out. Mandi had arrived by then. She and I spent the rest of the afternoon framing pictures.

We went and got cleaned up for the day. Then we headed to the dinner for the wedding. There were a lot of people there. I could only stay long enough to eat something. I had to head to the airport.

They were married Saturday morning. The reception was that night. I didn't get to be there for any of that because I had to work but I was happy to be able to help get things ready. It is always fun spending time with the Moffats. I was grateful to get to see my Parents, Ryan, and Mandi.
