I made in back to Orange County late on Friday night. Brandon had his truck up on stands at his parents house to refresh all his fluids. He and his dad worked on the truck until around 1:00 am. I fell asleep.
Saturday afternoon we went to Adolfo's house for a Memorial Day party. Adolfo is one of Brandon's best friends from high school. He recently bought a house in Orange. It has a swimming pool in the back yard. They had some snacks and barbecued some hot dogs and hamburgers. Freddie brought his famous guacamole. It is always interesting hanging out with Brandon's high school buddies. They aren't married and I kind of feel like a third wheel. We were over there from 3:00 pm until 11:00 pm or so. I brought my ipod and listened to a book on tape. I know it sounds lame but I had to entertain myself. They also ordered the UFC so I watched that while I listened to the book.
Sunday evening we went to a graduation party for Brian Adams. They had some delicious food there. Andy and Jenny Demke were in town for the party. We hung out at the Adam's house until pretty late chatting and watching TV.
Monday morning Brandon went golfing with some of his buddies. Monday afternoon we went to Brian and Becka Adam's house to finish planning our trip to Peru. I had emailed them some info a few weeks before on flights from Lima to Cuzco (where the ruins are). They didn't look at the airfare until we met up with them that day. The airfare had doubled in price except for one fare that was not exactly on the days we had planned but that would still work. When we left I sent them a text to purchase the cheap ticket on the wrong day. They wanted to wait until we came by that night. I told them that I was concerned that it wouldn't be around later.
Monday night we went to dinner at the Kailaponi's house. They are a couple in our ward that Brandon home teaches. It was really fun to get to know them better. The food was delicious. They also invited another couple from our ward the Callisters. It was fun to spend time with them too.
It was an enjoyable Memorial Weekend and I'm shocked that I didn't get called into work once.
