I was called to be in charge of our ward's portion of the stake variety show. We have to do three numbers that are each two to two and a half minutes long. Each performance has to have at least five or six people and one performance has to have kids in it. I think I have one performance squared away. I think we are going to have the Elders Quorum do the Lunch Lady Song from SNL. I had never seen it before but Brandon showed it to me and I think it would work and be really funny.
I'm struggling with the other two. I thought of having this one young man in my ward play the piano (like a Billy Joel song or something) and have the young men and maybe young women sing but then the young men leaders pretty much said that the young men in our ward are pretty useless that way. The young women leader wasn't much better...she told me of a few girls that would maybe sing and one that could play the piano but that many are involved in sports. It seems like the other wards are having primary kids sing. I don't want to do what every other ward is doing. I want the performances to either be very funny or really good.
My friend mentioned having the Relief Society women do Hilary Weeks song about motherhood that is suppose to be pretty funny...then we could incorporate a few kids in that one. I haven't heard this song yet so the jury is out.
Basically I am begging here for any good ideas...seriously. If you can think of anything clever or funny let me know. We can only do one lip sync (and we are already doing the Lunch Lady Song) so that leaves real singing, or dancing or something. Help! Please!

there is this song that goes something like "Crayola doesn't make a color for your eyes." It's really cute and has a lot of clapping involved, maybe a group could do that? good luck! some kids do a little dance or just do them singing pop corn popping and have the YM be the "trees" and throw up popcorn? or run those old popcorn poppers while they sing???

At our ward talent show recently all the sunbeams and nursery girls dressed as fairies and danced to 'Sugarplum Fairies'. It was very ADORABLE and the mom's loved dressing them up. There is also a very fun ward talent skit of men doing sychronized swimming behind a blue sheet of water....it's on you tube. Type in sychronized swimming....

You ever seen a "potato head" sing-along??? Its hillarious! (you know the chin thing with eyes) Also really funny...doing a dating game where the guy on one side of the partition asks three ladies questions...only its all rigged to righteous questions or really funny ones. You could also have a "chubby monkey" contest up there.(stuff large marshmellows in your mouth and say "chubby monkey" and not laugh and lose them) anyway...I have more :)
