Moses Lake

I went to Moses Lake last Wednesday. Zaymes turned 8 at the end of March so he was getting baptized on April 18th. I had Wednesday through Friday off so I went to Moses lake even though I knew I would miss the baptism on Saturday. It was also Nena's birthday on Friday and Ryan's birthday on Sunday.

I arrived into Pasco on Wednesday afternoon. My mom picked me up and we stopped for a Bruchi sandwich before heading to Moses Lake. We stopped at my Uncle David's office before going to the house. I wanted to get my blood work done. I like doing that every so often to just check on things. I was able to chat with David for a few minutes which is always fun. My mom had some sewing stuff to take care of so I headed over to my Grandma's house to visit her and then stopped to see Angie and Qiana. I made it back to my parent's house just in time for a delicious tortellini dinner with yummy salad. Ryan and Nena came over and brought the kids. Beckham stayed the night with me.

Thursday morning my mom, Beckham, and I went for a walk. We decided to walk to Nena's and drop Beckham off. I asked Beckham before he left if he wanted to sit in a stroller or if he wanted to walk. He said he wanted to walk. A more appropriate question would have been if he sits in a stroller or walks when he goes with his mom. About two minutes into our walk he was tired. He said his feet hurt. I carried him on my back the rest of the way. Anyone who has seen Beckham knows that carrying him on your back for a long distance is no small feat...that kid is thick. To add insult to injury guess who should pass us on the road walking to Nena...Angie! I knew once she saw us I would be mocked and she did not let me down. I received a text not too shortly after. We dropped Beckham at home and finished our walk. When we arrived at home I got cleaned up. My mom picked Mikkel up from school.

I stopped by Safeway to get some donuts to take out to Big Bend Community College Aviation Department. I spent four or five days a week there for two years and I haven't been back in around five years. It was so fun to go back and see all my old instructors and get caught up. All the senior instructors (the guys that are full time and on salary) are the same. The only one who is no longer there is Mr Mason. I was able to talk to Mr Swedburg, Mr Hammer, Mr Gilespie, Mr Crane, and Mr MacDougal. I arrived at 1:00 and didn't leave until almost 4:30. Irene Osumi was the dispatcher when I was there...she is still dispatching. I had so much fun catching up with her. She keeps in touch with a lot of the old students. She was able to catch me up on different people from my class or that were around when I was. There was another old student named Pei (don't know how to spell) that was there the year before I was. He was in town from Shanghi. He flies a 747 for China Air. I was really glad I went to visit.

My mom, dad, and I went by Ryan and Nena's that night. I took so pictures with the kids outside and played hide and go seek. Angie and Qiana stopped by. My mom had to leave to teach her quilting class and Nena had to leave to get carpet cleaner (I think). The rest of us talked for a little while. When I went to leave Beckham started crying because I didn't spend enough time playing with him. Zaymes came back to my parent's house to stay the night. He and I watched some shows together and went out in the hot tub. It is always so cute talking to my nephews one on one. I asked him about school, his birthday, his baptism, etc. My heart broke when he told me that he couldn't read or write and didn't think he would make it to the third grade (Ryan told me later that Zaymes was pretty much repeating what Ryan had talked with him about after receiving his report card.)

Myca and Jared arrived around 2:00 am. Friday morning Myca, mom, Zaymes, Boston, and I all went for a walk. Then once we were cleaned up, Myca and I went and picked up food from Dana's and took it to Ryan's house to eat. Then I had to leave to go to the airport. It was a really quick trip as usual but I was so grateful to see my family. I wish I could have spent some more time with all of them.

I had pictures of my flight school, the planes, my old instructors, and pictures with my nephews and niece etc but when I went to post them they disappeared off the camera. I didn't even touch anything so I'm not sure what happened. I am really sad. Losing pictures is the worst.
