The Boys

Zaymes and Mikkel were with us for two weeks. The whole thing is a little bit of a blur. It was so much fun having them here. It was interesting having four people in a one bedroom apartment.

We went swimming in a pool, to the beach, or both almost every day. We also went to the library and picked out several books. We went to a learning center and bought some workbooks. Chelsea, my sister-in-law, also brought some educational materials with her from Arizona. Most days the boys would go with me to the tract first thing in the morning so I could run. We also went to Mindy's gym at her condo a couple times. They loved going to the gym so they could play on all the equipment. They would show me their muscles. After working out the boys would read, do workbooks, or flash cards with me. We had some different incentives going (if they read all the flash cards correctly they would get a little toy, they received a penny a page that they read, etc.) They loved the dollar store. Zaymes was promised a black bandanna like Uncle Brandon's if he did his studying with a good attitude. Then in the afternoon we would go to the beach or go swimming at a pool or both. I spoke with a lot of strangers in these locations as the boys seemed to always make friends with someone. One day we even saw three officers taser a guy at the beach not far from where we were standing. We had dinner with friends several times including: Cowdells, Hadlocks, Adams and Waites.
One day we spent the entire afternoon and evening at Greg and Becky Linton's house. Brandon's sisters Natalie and Mindy came and brought their kids too. They have a house with a pool in Chino Hills. Their sons, Kyler and Logan, are Zaymes and Mikkel's ages. They played so hard and had so much fun. Mikkel even asked if he could stay the night at their house. All of Brandon's family was in town on the weekend of June 26-28 so we spent some time with them. We went to a wedding reception Friday night. We had family pictures taken Saturday morning. Then we went to Pat and Mindy's to swim. Zaymes and Mikkel played really well with the kids. In fact Zaymes mentioned a few time that my niece Pyper is really cute.

Wednesday July 1st the boys and I took a flight to Salt Lake City. Mindy, Ashton, Chelsea and Ryan (my sister-in-laws and nieces) were on the flight too. We were headed to Park City, UT for a family reunion. Brandon flew to Arizona to drive with Billy so he wouldn't have to do the drive alone.
