Ready Reserve

On Sunday I was assigned to sit ready reserve at LAX from 7:00am to 2:30pm. When I'm assigned ready reserve it means when crew support calls me I have to be to the aircraft within 20 minutes. I received a few emails about sitting ready because of construction in the alley way of the terminal. They needed us to move aircraft from the remote to the terminal and back.

I had to leave the house by 5:30am. By 9:00am they had not used me once. I decided to go to the closest church to the airport to go to sacrament meeting. They didn't call me while I was there so I stayed for all three meetings. It is a little embarrassing wearing my uniform to church. I guess it does give people a reason to talk to me.

The ward I went to was really friendly. I ended up meeting a guy that had taken my sister-in-law, Mindy, out on a date once. I also met Becky. She and her husband are really good friends with Jaycee and Brandon Pierce. Pierce worked with my husband up until June.

Becky and her husband invited me to eat lunch at their house. She also invited me to come over anytime I had to sit ready reserve if I didn't want to hang out at the airport. I did go eat with them. I stayed there until I was done with reserve. It ended up being a really nice day. I wasn't called once the entire day.

O.K. so this post makes me sad for 2 reasons. 1. I thought you had moved to Boise and 2. We were in LA for a farewell sunday and you cold have been a huge part of that! So sorry we missed each other. Plus Maddi had to fly home early and sat in the airport for about three hours for a delayed flight in guess where... LAX! We need to get our information to each other. Missed you. Jacob and Emily have moved to Brea. OMG call them.
