Since We've Been Back From Spain...

This summer has been completely crazy. It has been full of so many changes and a lot of emotional stress. I will admit it has been one of the most challenging periods. Because so much has been going on I haven't had time to write it down. Unfortunately my memory is really poor. I probably won't do justice to all the events that have taken place.

One of the first changes when we arrived home was dealing with Brandon's employment. He had not been paid for three or so months. We had many repairs and maintenance that had to be taken care of on our cars. We decided that we really needed Brandon to have a regular pay check. We thought that perhaps he could work part time somewhere else so we could pay some bills and still work part of the time doing what he had been doing. He started working for Barrett Pest Control. That was where he worked while he was in college. It became apparent after a few days that it would be really tough doing both. It was really hard for Brandon to decided to work full time as a pest control tech. Although he knew that this would be temporary he had worked so hard to learn the 1031 exchange (commercial real estate) business including studying for and taking the Series 7 brokerage license test that it was hard to walk away.

Since the pest control gig is temporary in nature there was also the added stress of trying to figure out what direction he would want to take his professional life. With the economy the way that it has been finding more permanent work would also be a challenge. We both felt like he was making the right move.
