Stake Conference

Our Stake Conference was September 12-13th. Elder Keith Hilbig of the First Quorom of the Seventy was our visiting general authority. There was also a member of the Sixth Quorom of the Seventy visiting from Arizona. His talks both Saturday night and Sunday really touched me. He was one of those people that you feel love emanate from. He spoke about raising your kids not until they are adults but until they are parents. He spoke of being quick to give love and praise when your kids do good things (even making a bed) and being slow to criticize. He stressed helping your kids have the desire from within to do the right thing. Sunday he shared a very sweet conversion story. A man that he worked with had screwed up but due to this Elder's loving reaction he wanted to learn more about him. The Elder asked "how do you like your hamburgers? This Elder invited the man and his wife to family home evening. They went and the wife was so touched by the love of this family that she insisted on the two of them having the same kind of love within their family. They were baptized and so was her sister and her sister's husband.
