Family Reunion

Our Earl family reunion was Aug 14-16th in Moses Lake, WA. I had a leadership meeting at a hotel near LAX on Wednesday. That evening I flew to Seattle. Brandon flew from Orange County to Seattle. My sister Myca and our family friend Kristen Honeycutt picked us up. We stayed the night with them. We had ice cream and watched a movie.

Myca and I went running in the morning. Then Jared, Myca, Brandon, and I drove to Moses Lake. Lindsay dropped by with her kids. I was so excited to see them. That afternoon our whole family went to the Taco Shop to eat. Then we went to Grandma's house to go swimming. Brandon, Jared, Ryan, Corbin, Collin, Myca, and I had a mean game of water basketball. It was so much fun but pretty rough. I was elbowed in the face a few times. That night we sat around talking. I love spending time with my family.

Myca has been training for a marathon. I was going to run it with her but wasn't able to get to get the day off. So Friday morning we did our long run for the week which was 18 miles. We ran on the road through the sand dunes to my Aunt Becky and Uncle Jeff's house. I actually ran out by the golf course where all the boys were golfing. It was fun to end our run and see some of our cousins briefly.

When Jared, Brandon, and Corbin arrived home I was a little surprised to hear Jared and Brandon's team won at golf. They were with Aaron Wise and Brad Earl.

That afternoon we went to my Grandma Earl's house. We all snacked on food and chatted (two of our favorite things.) It is always a blast getting together with my extended family. I love getting caught up and feel like I don't see them enough.

We had a delicious dinner. Then it was time for a lip sync tribute to my Aunt Tami. Each family was assigned a song that was a favorite of Tami. The Tom Earl family was assigned "Ain't to Proud to Beg" by the Temptations. Corbin was the lead singer. Mandi, Myca, Mom and I were back up dancers. Then each of the guys had dance solos. Tami's kids put the whole weekend together and they did a little number to "RESPECT" by Aretha Franklin. Jared was the lead and hilarious as usual. All the rest were back up. Jeff and Becky's kids did "Midnight Train to Georgia" by Gladys Knight and the Pips. Brandon was the lead. He was working the wig and the lipstick. Pat and Lori's kids did "Stop in the Name of Love" by The Supremes. All their kids were dressed alike with wigs...so cute. Jordan was their beautiful lead. Doug and Connie changed all the lyrics to their song and did actions to match the lyrics. It was hysterical! There song was "Dancin in the Street" by Martha and the Vandellas. David and Peggy were assigned "I Heard it Through the Grapevine" by Marvin Gaye. Each part of the song highlighted someone different or a few of them. They had photos to represent what had been heard through the grapevine, full on dancing in portions, and the best part was the revealing that Kristy was proposed to and accepted. No one knew except David and Peggy so Kristy's siblings were all shocked! It was fantastic.

The next morning all the women had craft time at Grandma's house. I wasn't sure if I would have work off so I didn't sign up. I did go to hang out though. I helped my mom a little with hers.

All the families met at the state park. We had lunch and took photos. Then it was time for races etc. I had to leave to catch a flight home. That night I guess they did an Amazing Race like the TV show. Everyone said it was so much fun. Grandma won.
